Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how PragerU, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (“PragerU,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you visit, shop at, or otherwise interact with the PragerU Shop (shop.prageru.com, the “Shop”).

This policy applies specifically to the PragerU Shop and your activity as a customer or visitor of the Shop. It does not cover other PragerU properties, such as prageru.com or PragerU's donor and newsletter communications, which are addressed in a separate privacy policy.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Shop, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the Shop.

Section 1 — Information We Collect

We collect information about you in the following ways:

Information You Provide to Us

• Contact information, such as your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number

• Order information, including billing and shipping address, items purchased, and order history

• Payment information, processed securely through Shopify Payments or another supported payment processor — we do not store your full payment card number on our servers

• Account information, if you create a customer account with the Shop

• Communications you send us, such as customer service inquiries, product reviews, or survey responses

Information Collected Automatically

• Device and browser information, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers

• Usage data, such as pages viewed, products browsed, links clicked, referring/exit pages, and the dates and times of your visits

• Location information inferred from your IP address (general geographic area, not precise location)

We collect this information using cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies, described further in Section 3 below.

Section 2 — How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process, fulfill, and ship your orders, and communicate with you about your orders (including order confirmations and shipping updates)

• Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries

• Send you marketing emails and SMS messages about products, promotions, and PragerU content, where you have opted in to receive them

• Show you relevant advertising on other platforms, such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram), based on your interactions with the Shop

• Detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, and other potentially prohibited or illegal activity

• Improve and optimize the Shop, including site performance, product offerings, and the overall shopping experience

• Comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms of Service

Section 3 — Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Shop uses cookies, pixels, tags, and similar tracking technologies to operate the site, understand how visitors use it, and deliver relevant advertising. These include:

• Essential cookies set by Shopify, our e-commerce platform, which are necessary for core site functionality such as your shopping cart and checkout

• Analytics tools, including Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and CrazyEgg (which may record clicks, scrolls, and on-site behavior to help us understand and improve the shopping experience)

• Advertising pixels and tags, including the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, Google Ads tag, LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel, and X (Twitter) Ads pixel, which help us measure the effectiveness of our advertising and show you relevant ads on those platforms

• Shopify Shop campaigns and related Shopify advertising and Shop App features, which may use similar tracking to reach shoppers across the Shop network

• Email and marketing automation tracking through Klaviyo, our email/SMS marketing platform, which may track email opens and link clicks in messages you receive from us

We may add additional advertising or analytics partners from time to time — for example, we anticipate adding a Pinterest tag in the future. We will update this Privacy Policy to reflect any such additions.

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings, including refusing or deleting cookies. If you disable cookies, some features of the Shop may not function properly. Where required by law, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

Section 4 — How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information with the following categories of third parties as necessary to operate the Shop:

• Shopify Inc., which hosts the Shop and processes orders, payments, and customer account data on our behalf, including through Shopify Shop campaigns and the Shop App advertising network

• Payment processors integrated with Shopify, to securely process your payment

• Klaviyo, our email and SMS marketing platform, to send you marketing communications you have opted in to receive

• Advertising and analytics partners, including Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta Ads), Google LLC (Google Analytics and Google Ads), LinkedIn Corporation (LinkedIn Pixel), TikTok Inc. (TikTok Pixel), X Corp. (X Ads), Mixpanel, and CrazyEgg, for advertising, retargeting, and analytics purposes

• Judge.me, our product review platform, to collect and display customer reviews

• Snowflake Inc., which hosts our internal data warehouse, where we consolidate analytics and marketing data from the sources above for internal reporting and analysis. Snowflake processes this data on our behalf and does not independently use it for its own purposes

• Shipping carriers, to deliver your orders

• Professional advisors, such as legal, accounting, or IT service providers, as needed

• Law enforcement or regulators, where required to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or ensure the safety of PragerU, our customers, or the public

As noted above, we may add additional advertising or analytics partners over time (for example, Pinterest), and this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect any such additions.

Some of these third parties may set their own cookies or receive data directly from your browser or device (for example, advertising pixels and tags). Under certain state privacy laws, sharing information for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising may be considered a “sale” or “share” of personal information, even though no money changes hands. See Section 8 for your choices regarding this.

Section 5 — Email and SMS Marketing Consent

If you sign up to receive marketing emails or SMS text messages from the Shop, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing messages at the email address or phone number provided. Message and data rates may apply to SMS communications.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the “unsubscribe” link included in every marketing email, and you may opt out of SMS messages by replying “STOP” to any text message you receive from us. Opting out of marketing communications will not affect transactional messages related to an order you have placed, such as order and shipping confirmations.

We will not share your text message opt-in or consent status with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing the messaging service. We may share this data with vendors who help us deliver text messages, including platform providers such as Klaviyo and phone companies involved in transmitting your messages.

Section 6 — Children's Privacy

The PragerU Shop is intended for use by adults and is not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Shop. While the Shop sells PragerU Kids books and other children's content, purchases are made by the parent, guardian, or other adult completing the transaction, not by a child.

If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the information in Section 11.

Section 7 — Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Shop's services, comply with our legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Order and transaction records are generally retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting laws.

Section 8 — Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you

• Request correction of inaccurate personal information

• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (for example, information we must retain for legal or tax purposes)

• Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising

• Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

California residents in particular may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 11, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

You may also opt out of interest-based advertising directly through the ad preference settings offered by Meta, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X, or through industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance's WebChoices tool.

Section 9 — Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is not yet a common industry standard for how to respond to DNT signals, the Shop does not currently respond differently based on a detected DNT signal.

Section 10 — Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information, including relying on Shopify's PCI-compliant infrastructure for payment processing. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Section 12 — Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Shop after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
