just recevied the book, few people talked good about Dennis and even on my church some peole reads his book so I decided to buy it.
Wonderful commentary. I learn something new every time I read it! It has helped me to understand the Bible so much better already. My only issue is that as we were reading through it, we discovered that one page had been ripped out, hence I removed one star. Sadly we have already had the book for a while and the return window has long passed. I would love to get a replacement, but if that is not possible, it would be great if I could at least know what was written on pages 265 and 266.
The book is great! But when i got it, it looked like it had been run over by a forklift or something. It might have happened during shipping. I did not bother to report the damage to Amazon. But i was disappointed.
It is so clear and easy to read and understand. I’m loving and have ordered next one.

I feel like the first kid on the block with this book.It came a little banged up though, but I'm not going to send it back.I'm well into it after the first day and it is every bit as enjoyable as the former installments of the first two books. I find that the perspective of a rabbi lends to a better understanding of many passages of scripture that do not make sense no matter whose translation you read.Thank you, Mr. Prager,- Cory C.
I started with Dennis Prager’s Exodus commentary a few months ago and couldn’t wait to read his Genesis commentary. This is by far the best book I’ve found to deepen my understanding of the Bible. I’ve attended church since birth and know many of the Bible stories, but have struggled to really understand who was who and what was happening. As a parent it has helped me feel confident as I teach our children.I’ve desired a book like this for years and I’m grateful to have found Dennis. I’m looking forward to reading the next three commentaries he writes. Now I desire to find something like this for every book of the Bible.This book will proudly be added to our library. Highly recommend reading this book and other books by Dennis Prager.
As an evangelical Christian, I neglected to thoroughly understand the Torah. I decided to correct my lack of understanding after listening to Mr. Prager discuss "The Rational Bible."I just completed "Exodus. God, Slavery, and Freedom." Mr. Prager's commentary enriched my understanding of the Book of Exodus and the significance of the events described therein. My copy is highlighted, annotated, scribbled in, and, I took copious notes. I will be passing it on to my daughter. It is a wonderful commentary. I needed it from a Jew's perspective, and I got it. For evangelicals, I recommend accompanying your study with a good Christian translation of Exodus.I understand why Mr. Prager released "Exodus," first.Now, on to Genesis.Dennis Prager has done a good thing preparing this commentary and I commend him. People of all faiths can benefit from learning about the events which changed humanity.
It is enlightening to read the meanings of the Greek or Jewish meanings in the translations. The essays are great and give lots of food for thought. My question would be: How can one read all the prophecies and not believe in Jesus as the Messiah? Great job with the rational Bible. I just started genesis and enjoy the beginning comments. Keep up the good work
Praeger's explanations and interpretation makes the bible more understandable
I am truly enjoying studying the book of Exodus with the commentary by Dennis Prager. All the thoughts are presented in a straight-forward manner that makes it easy to contemplate the scriptures.
Dennis Prager provides thoughtful commentaries, well reasoned explications, and interesting observations on the most influential books in our history. Try reading a few minutes a day, or a chapter or two, and your time will be well spent.
I am currently reading Exodus. It is very understandable. I am glad that I bought this set of books.
