This edition is fully unabridged. The original, archaic language has been converted into conversational English without losing any faithfulness to Bunyan's text; sentence construction and certain character reactions have simply been modified for a more contemporary style of expression. The book includes Part 1 only, chronicling Christian's own journey (Part 2, which follows his wife and children, is not included), along with the original Bible references. It is suitable for readers age twelve and up, and has long been a favorite of figures such as Charles Spurgeon, C.S. Lewis and George Whitefield.
